SAMSTEO on the Central Grid stage at CWIEME Berlin

We took the Central Grid stage to present Integrated Asset Intelligence for Next-Generation Transmission Systems together with CGES, the Montenegrin transmission system operator.
As extreme weather keeps testing grid reliability, reactive maintenance stops being sufficient. We showed how SAMSTEO delivers asset intelligence by combining Earth Observation for macro-level environmental tracking, IoT and LoRaWAN sensors for real-time monitoring in signal-blind areas, and predictive weather data to anticipate risk before it causes downtime.
LoRaSi was also invited to moderate a private session in the Transmission & Distribution Club: “From Visibility to Reliability: Digitalising T&D Infrastructure with IoT”, bringing together senior people from TSOs, DSOs and OEMs on the practical problems — detecting faults earlier, getting remote visibility of hard-to-reach assets, and integrating IoT into infrastructure that already exists.
The feedback confirmed something we suspected: data-driven climate adaptation has moved to the top of the utility agenda.
